Tuesday 18th 2014

After we did our agendas, we did our drops in the bucket activity.

In gym we played cats and corners with the kindergarten's.  You have to switch spots without talking and if you talk you're the cat.  It is a really fun game.

To start the day we do our French duotangs. Today we're doing 5 French sentences.  We have the groups of words than we have the verbes than complement groups. We make them into sentences.  In this photo we have to add an (ent) ending if the subject before the verb is plural, or just leave the verb how it is if it's singular.

In math we were using the box method for multiplication.
After we did math sheets.
Than after Lunch we read our Judy Blume tales of a forth grade nothing.  Each of us had a chance to read!

In math we worked in partners on dry erase boards. We practiced multiplication with two digit numbers  using he box method. Our exit ticket for lunch was to complete a math equation.

Then in the afternoon we had santé with Mme Towells.

We also did a journal entry in English class. We had to write about if we had 100 dollars and couldn't spend it on ourselves, what would we spend it on.

At the end of the day we reflect on our day and think about how we filled someone's bucket. Then we write on a drop explaining how we filled someone's bucket.

I liked that a lot this was a fun project and when we were all finished our stories we presented them in front of the class. We are in math now and we're learning about a math strategy for multiplying with large numbers.
In this photo Mme is showing us how this math strategy works and she's has an example on the white board.
These are some of the multiplication equations we are working on 64x46 36x44, 52x19, 62x22.

Now it's gym and we are playing yoshi. Our gym teacher is explaining the game to us .

Judy Blume : Tales of a fourth grade nothing
In class we are reading Judy Blume - Tales of a fourth grade nothing. Peter and Fudge's dad is making a commercial for Juicy-O. So, Mme. Said that our project in English is to make our very own Juicy-O commercial. She placed us in groups of 3 or 4 students and we had to plan it out and film it using the classroom I-pads. The students will also be I charge of evaluating each others commercials.

Immunization
On Thursday, we got two needles. We had to sit in the hallway to wait for our immunization. We got the needles in the science lab. There were 3 nurses giving the needles. After we got our needles, we want to the art room and ate cookies and drank apple juice. It stung for a while but we survived.

Stomp
In music class we are doing a video in groups of 4-5 people. The goal is to make music with different objects without using instruments. Once it's filmed we will all have a chance to watch the videos.

I Pads
The I Pads are here! In class we have 7 I Pad minis. We use the I Pads for projects like concours d'art oratoire and the Juicy-O commercials. The I Pads help us to translate words. We can research different things or subjects. We are using the app. I Movie to make commercials. We are enjoying using them and are excited to explore and use the other apps.

Ace Burpee
Yesterday, Ace Burpee a radio announcer for 103.1 Virgin radio came to our school for I love to read month. He read a wolf book and a Paul and Suzanne book. They were both funny. He told us a little bit about himself and we had a blast!

Rocks and minerals & Manitoba
In sciences we are studying rocks and minerals. We've been looking at different rocks and minerals and reading books about them. Students from the class have been bringing different rocks and minerals to school to show the whole class and talk about them and tell us about what typeof rock it is.

 Mosaic mural
Dimitri the mosaic artist is working with the school to make 3 different mosaic murals. A mosaic is an art piece of cut up tiles. The first mosaic is an E.R.B sign with 50 hearts to celebrate the school's 50th anniversary. The second one is the Nothern lights in the shape of a maple leaf to represent Canada and community. The third one is a sign in front of the school that says École.
