Multiple Intelligences:
A while back we did a survey on multiple intelligences to find out what our intelligences are. We found out what we are good at and how we can use and depend on the strengths of others for help. This creates a real sense of classroom community.

I walk:
Last Wednesday we participated in the I Walk challenge. We walked all around the school yard as many times as we could to promote good health and exercise. It was kind of like the Terry Fox run but we were walking instead of running.

Immunization:
Ouch! We got needles last week. It didn't really hurt, but the happy part was we got cookies and juice...yum! After we waited for the other people getting their needles to come out, and they were fine as well.

What does peace....
Mme read the book What does peace feel like by Vladimir Radunsky. In groups we were given a large piece a paper to brainstorm what does peace feel like. We had to think about all the five senses. Then we each chose a sentence and drew a picture to go with it. The grade 3 class is doing the same. We will be creating a video with our sentences and showing it at the Remembrance Day assembly.

Thanksgiving cards:
Last week we worked on making Thanksgiving cards for important people in our lives like mom and dad. We wrote about what we are thankful for. When we were finished, we decorated them with leaves using a leaf rubbing technique.

Subtraction of large numbers:
Mme taught us how to subtract using large numbers. Some of us had difficulty doing it, but with practice we will get better.

Continents, Oceans & Canada:

In Social Studies class we are learning about continents, oceans and Canada. In our duotangs we had to colour the 7 continents and the 4 largest oceans. On the Smart board Mme showed us pictures of the world and it's continents. We labeled the oceans and the continents. We also situated Canada on the map.

French sounds:
Mme put up French sounds on the wall for us to use when we are writing in French. There are lots of different sounds, but the one's that are on the wall are used the most often when writing.

Police Presentation:
On Wednesday we had a police officer come to our school for a presentation. She showed us a slide and we watched a video called Retro Bill. The police officer told us about the dangers of strangers.

Fun Lunch today:
For lunch today we're having pizza. We ordered the pizza from Boston Pizza.
